For all those willing to explore Edinburgh’s New Town, Avondale Place offers an ideal location full of charm and personality. It is part of the Stockbridge colonies, built in the mid-19th century to provide housing for the masons, who took part in the construction of the New Town, and their families.
4 Avondale Place is located in the heart of Stockbridge, the most vibrant district in Edinburgh, where some of the city’s top restaurants, bars and shops can be found. A 5-minute walk drives you to the Botanic Garden, and the water of Leith, Edinburgh’s river, flows literally at the end of the street, offering a splendid natural walkway from Edinburgh to the Port of Leith.
There are many facilities around for sports lovers: Glenogles Baths, a public swimming pool dating from the 19th century is located 200 mt from the house, and the prestigious Grange sports club, with its legendary cricket playing field and grass tennis courts.
The house offers perfect Georgian-style accommodation for a couple or a single guest, at no distance from the main tourist attractions, from churches, parks, commercial streets and public buildings to theatres and festival venues. It is the place to be if you want to enjoy the Edinburgh festivals.
The one-bedroom house was fully renewed in 2023 and has been recently refurbished due to an ownership change. It has its own small garden for open-air meals, a spacious living room, a king-size-bed bedroom, a modern and functional bathroom and a complete kitchen. Both the bedroom and living room have TV, plus wifi acces in all the rooms. For guests interested to know more about art and history, bookshelves are full of books on Edinburgh and Scotland.

Edinburgh is a perfect base to discover and enjoy other parts of Scotland.
